Delete account

1. In the app

• Step 1. Open the DanBlue Labs app and sign in.
• Step 2. Go to Settings › Account › Delete account.
• Step 3. Read what will be deleted, then tap “Continue”.
• Step 4. Enter your password to confirm it is you. Tap “Verify”. The password is only used for this check and is not stored.
• Step 5. Type the confirmation word shown and finish with “Delete my account”.

2. Grace period and timeline

The deletion is scheduled, not immediate. Your account is deleted 7 days after your request. Until then you can take it back on the same screen with “Cancel deletion”; your data stays as it is, and cancelling loses nothing. Once the 7 days have ended, the deletion can no longer be cancelled.

After that period, your account and your data are removed from our servers. The data on your device is removed the next time you open the “Delete account” screen in the app after that.

3. Without the app

If you no longer have the DanBlue Labs app or cannot sign in, send an e-mail to daniel.heistruevers@danbluelabs.de, please from the e-mail address your account is registered with. Include:

• the e-mail address your account is registered with (if it is not the sender),
• the words “Please delete my account for the DanBlue Labs app”.

We may ask you to confirm before we act on the request.

4. What is deleted

From our servers:

• your account and sign-in,
• your profile, display name and public profile,
• your logbook dives stored with your account,
• dive sites you created,
• your buddy connections and requests,
• other records linked to your account, such as your event registrations and your dive verification requests,
• all files stored under your account identifier.

From your device, once you open the “Delete account” screen after that: all dives of this account with their profiles, photos, gear, buddies, sightings and conditions, your certifications and paired dive computers, and your data exports, cached map images and offline sign-in.

Photos are stored only on your device. Export anything you want to keep first.

5. What is kept

• On your device, app settings and dives from a local trial without an account are not affected.
• Of verifications that a dive centre or its staff made for your dives, an anonymised record is kept (including, among other things, the date of the dive), without your account identifier, the dive identifier or the dive site name.
• Verifications you gave for other divers are marked as withdrawn on their side.
• A deletion log records only that a deletion took place and how many records were affected, with no account identifier, e-mail address or name.
• E-mails sent to us, such as your deletion request, are handled as described in the privacy policy.
